The intruders are said to have been disturbed by Ancelotti’s stepdaughter
The home of Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti was broken into by masked burglars on Friday night, who later fled the scene with a safe.
Police were called to the Blundellsands property in Crosby at 6.35pm after the intruders were reportedly disturbed by Ancelotti’s step daughter, Chloe, who had been home alone at the time.
After being discovered, the two men – both said to have been wearing black waterproof clothing – left the property via a gateway.
“We are appealing for information after a safe was stolen in a burglary in Crosby on Friday evening (12 February),” a statement from Merseyside Police said.
“We were called at 6.35pm to a report two males had entered a property on Hall Road East at around 6.30pm.
“The offenders were described as wearing black waterproof clothing, possibly with white writing on, and black balaclavas.
‘The occupants of the house were unharmed.”
Ancelotti, who is believed to have been preparing for his team’s Premier League game with Fulham on Sunday at the time, is the latest football figure to have his home broken into in the northwest in recent years.
High-profile names from Liverpool and both Manchester clubs have had their properties burgled in recent years – usually when they were in action for their teams.
