Ched Evans, who is currently awaiting a retrial of his rape case, has been offered a 12-month contract by League One side Chesterfield FC.
The footballer, who is now 27, has not been able to find work as a footballer since he was convicted of rape in 2012. He was sentenced to five years in prison and was released by late 2014.
However, his conviction was quashed in April of this year, and the former Man City and Sheffield United striker now awaits a retrial.
With this retrial set to begin in October, Chesterfield have reportedly offered Evans a 12-month-contract. The team narrowly escaped relegation from League One last season.
If Evans features for Chesterfield, it will be the first time he has kicked a ball professionally since 2012.
