Lampard has spent one season as a manager
Chelsea will speak to Frank Lampard regarding the vacant managerial position at Stamford Bridge after being granted permission by his current club Derby County.
The Premier League side have been looking for a new manager since Maurizio Sarri left after one season to coach Serie A giants Juventus earlier this month.
Lampard is fresh off the back of his first season as a manager. He joined Derby County last summer and guided the Rams to the Championship play-off final, where they were defeated by Aston Villa.
A player at Stamford Bridge between 2001 and 2014, Lampard has been heavily linked with the manager’s job ever since Sarri left the club after a solitary season.

Despite struggling for form during a mid-season spell that saw supporters of the club turn against him, Sarri won his first trophy in management in the form of the Europa League, and sealed qualification for the Champions League.
Should he take over at the club, Lampard will have to contend with the transfer ban handed down to them from UEFA earlier this year.
The club are blocked from registering any new players until the January window of 2020 after they allegedly broke rules when signing foreign under-18 players. They were also handed a fine of £460,000 by world football’s governing body.
