Imagine the embarrassment of storming the pitch in anger about a refereeing decision, being dragged to the floor and being escorted out of the stadium.
Then imagine enduring that humiliation only to find out that you’d lost your cigarettes on top of it all.
Luckily for one furious Chelsea supporter, Norwich’s Timm Klose wasn’t prepared to let that happen.
It all kicked off for a moment during Wednesday night’s FA Cup replay at Stamford Bridge, where Alvaro Morata was sent off for two yellow cards in quick succession.
Morata was booked for diving by referee Graham Scott, who then punished the Blues forward for an aggressive tirade by delivering him his marching orders.
That prompted one impassioned fan to sprint on to the pitch to confront the official but he didn’t get close as stewards caught up with him and dragged him away and out of the stadium.
But the best part of the whole intense exchange was when Klose ran over to the pitch invader and returned the packet of cigarettes he’d dropped.
Klose even got a friendly thank you from the supporter as he was pulled out of the grounds, meaning he missed the dramatic penalty shootout which saw Chelsea secure a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup, where a clash with Newcastle awaits them.
