The decision of a fan at the Madejski to throw a coin at West Brom’s Chris Brunt was roundly condemned.
But we may have been naive to think that was the last of that sort of behaviour.
It seems fans haven’t even been able to wait until the end of this round of fixtures before another coin-throwing incident rears its ugly head.
After Manchester City’s David Faupala equalised for his team at Stamford Bridge, referee Andre Marriner was seen picking up at least one coin from the corner of the ground where City’s players were celebrating.
