José Mourinho did not get the return he wanted at Stamford Bridge, and that’s putting it mildly.
His Manchester United team conceded a first-minute opener to Chelsea winger Pedro after a mistake from Eric Bailly Daley Blind Chris Smalling David De Gea everyone, and Gary Cahill doubled the hosts’ lead before half-time.
Eden Hazard made it three just after the hour mark, and N’Golo Kanté rounded off the scoring by waltzing through the visitors’ defence to find the net for the first time in the blue of Chelsea.
The result saw Antonio Conte’s team climb to within a point of league leaders Manchester City, who took only a point from their home meeting with Southampton.
As poor as United were, Chelsea were very impressive. Here’s how Twitter saw the performances from both sets of players. If you’re a fan of Mourinho’s team, this won’t make very pleasant reading.

Gary Cahill
A rip appears in the fabric of space and time as Gary Cahill capitalises from a defensive mix up rather than causing one.
