George Groves took on Chris Eubank Jr in the semi-final of the World Boxing Super Series on Saturday night, and recorded a comfortable victory over his opponent.
The sold-out Manchester Arena saw Groves get the better of the early rounds, shaking Eubank with shots in the second and third rounds as he took control of the fight.
Eubank suffered a cut just above his right eye after getting hit with an accidental headbutt during an exchange in the third round.

The 28-year-old continued to come forward, and apply pressure on his opponent, but struggled to get a foothold in the fight, and missed with many of his big shots.
Groves kept his at distance and used his impressive jab to largely control the bout.
I think groves is showing there’s levels in boxing 🥊 Eubanks fighting like a street fight panicking groves coming away better off

Wow. In over his head here Eubank Jnr. Groves too big, strong and technical. Won’t last much longer this.

Both fighters traded shots in the eighth round, as Eubank continued to throw wild punches. He became increasingly aggressive in the later rounds, and began to take risks, walking straight onto his opponent as he went in search of the knockout punch he would have needed to win the bout. Eubank emptied the tank in the final round, unloading with a flurry of punches.
But Groves stood tall, took the shots that Eubank did land, and went toe-to-toe with his opponent in the final minute of the fight. The 29-year-old recorded a unanimous decision victory, and has advanced to the final of the World Boxing Super Series.
