Emmanuel Dennis has been left out of Club Brugge’s Champions League squad tonight after he stormed off the team bus.
His outburst came after he was not allowed to sit in his preferred seat, according to Belgian outlet Het Laatste Nieuws.
The club, like all clubs, are implementing safety measures to mitigate the threat of coronavirus, and that includes players bring spread out on the team bus when they travel to and from matches.
These measures meant Dennis could not sit in his preferred seat, and instead of just accepting this minor inconvenience and sitting somewhere else, the player reportedly stormed off, and has subsequently been omitted completely from the team selection for Brugge’s tie against Borussia Dortmund tonight.
Brugge boss Philippe Clement confirmed the Nigerian forward was dropped for disciplinary reasons, saying he was fit but would not take part.
“Dennis is fit, but not in our selection,” he said. “He didn’t follow the club’s rules, that’s all I want to say about that.
“I prefer to concentrate on the players who are available to me.”

The forward has played seven league games and three Champions League games this season, scoring just the one goal – against Zenit St Petersburg in October. So they probably won’t miss him too much.
Meanwhile, Brugge’s opponents Dortmund line up with 17-year-old England international Jude Bellingham in midfield and former Brugge full-back Thomas Meunier in defence.
