Confirmed: Manchester United vs Bournemouth will go ahead this week

The show must go on.

After Manchester United’s final game of the season with Bournemouth on Sunday was abandoned due to a bomb scare, the game has swiftly been rearranged for this week.

Although the suspicious package that caused the abandonment was later found to be a very realistic hoax, the club and the police have been commended for their actions.

With the FA Cup final on the horizon, United were keen to get the largely dead rubber out of the way, and the Premier League have now confirmed that the match will now take place on Tuesday.

The full statement is below, with confirmation from United’s twitter account.

We can confirm that today’s abandoned fixture between Manchester United and AFC Bournemouth will be played on Tuesday 17 May at 8:00pm.

We would like to thank Manchester United’s staff, the police and other emergency services for all their efforts today as well as rearranging the match for this coming Tuesday.

Both Manchester United and AFC Bournemouth’s management has been extremely helpful.
