With the amount of money footballers make these days, it’s no wonder that so many of them seem out of touch with reality.
That’s why we really love this image of Crystal Palace’s Norwegian defender Brede Hangeland just waiting around to get the train like a normal member of the public after Crystal Palace’s 4-1 win against Charlton Athletic.
This isn’t the first time that Hangeland has shown that he’s a man of the people, When the defender got married, rather than giving presents, guests were asked to contribute to a Save the Children project to build a school in Cambodia. £45,000 was raised.
He seems like a really down to earth bloke.

And it seems that Hangeland’s influence is rubbing off on some of the other Palace players, as a group of them got the tube home after their game against London rivals Spurs.
