Drinkwater is said to have crashed his Ranger Rover into a Skoda in Hale at 12:30am on Monday. The collision flattened a fence and left debris on the road.
The former Leicester player and his solicitor, Beth Mantel, were reportedly treated for minor injuries along with a 30-year-old woman who was driving the Skoda.
According to reports, Drinkwater had been attending a charity fundraiser just a few miles from his home on Sunday night. A source told the Daily Mail: “It was a really nasty crash. Danny had been seen having a great night at the bar but it ended horribly. Pieces of the car he hit went flying.”
Drinkwater has made just one appearance for Chelsea this season, back in August last year in the Community Shield against Manchester City at Wembley. Since then, he has been out of favour under Maurizio Sarri and not had a sniff of a first team appearance.
