The question remains…
Is David De Gea a better outfielder than Ander Herrera is a goalkeeper?
The Manchester United and Spain teammates are close friends off the pitch and clearly have offered tips to one another in their respective areas of expertise.
We all know Herrera’s qualities as a midfielder – dogged, tenacious, great vision and ability to split defences with passes.
Similarly, there’s no secret that David De Gea is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and he’s so often rescued points for the Red Devils with an instinctual low dive when an opposition forward was almost certain he’d found the net.
Well, it turns out that Herrera is not too shabby between the sticks either and he didn’t hesitate to let De Gea know via Twitter on Tuesday.
The Spanish midfielder tagged De Gea, as well as other United stoppers Sergio Romero and Joel Pereira, in a clip of him pulling off a stunning save during the final few days of his holidays.
Hi @D_DeGea, #Chiqui and @ElgatoPereira1 I hope you guys are enjoying your holidays but you should be a bit scared 😜😜 pic.twitter.com/YtU7RBoqZ0

“I hope you guys are enjoying your holidays but you should be a bit scared,” Herrera wrote.
It was not the first time that we got the chance to see Herrera’s shot-stopping ability. On United’s 2015 pre-season tour, the 27-year-old displayed similar reflexes on the goalline.

Well while Herrera may be a competent ‘keeper, De Gea hastened to point out that he’s not exactly a shabby outfielder as he responded to his teammate’s tweet with footage of a glorious free kick he once pulled off in training.
I think you should be the one to be scared 😏 https://t.co/DUp8IUhzYM https://t.co/wNk1cN3vAE
