Louis van Gaal’s main task when appointed Manchester United was to repair the damage done by predecessor David Moyes.
Although last season’s fourth-place finish would have represented a disappointing season in the Sir Alex Ferguson era, a return to the Champions League was seen as a step in the right direction.
But a few months on, and United have failed to make it out of what seemed like a straightforward Champions League group.
More so than ever in his 18-month spell at Old Trafford, fans are questioning Van Gaal.
The Dutchman may be faring better in the league than the man he replaced, but his record in Europe is lagging well behind in terms of points accumulated and goals scored.
At least the possession is 10% better. Manchester United fans can take some comfort from that…
