“I’d hope I wasn’t as bad as that in some of the games”
David Moyes has offered a damning assessment of Manchester United’s performance against Everton at Goodison Park, saying he hasn’t seen a performance that bad since “my days”.
Speaking as a pundit on PLTV following United 4-0 loss to the Liverpool side, Moyes said: “Well, I think it was a long time. Folk might go back to some of my performances with Utd, but I’ve got to say I hope I wasn’t as bad as that.”
Turning to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Moyes continued: “He won’t be under pressure because he’s done so well.”
He added: “But I think this is more like the United that we were seeing three or four months ago, before Ole came in.
“And it’s as if it’s reverted back to type at the moment, because that wasn’t the team I saw when he came in, with energy and pressing and hunger.”

United fell behind to an acrobatic 13th-minute opener from Richarlison and went 2-0 down inside half an hour after a Gylfi Sigurdsson’s shot from distance. Lucas Digne then scored Everton’s third ten minutes into the second half, before substitute Theo Walcott added the final goal of the afternoon on 64 minutes.
The Reds only managed their first shot on target in the 86th minute with the performance forcing Solskjaer to apologise to supporters in the away section at full-time.
Former United player Gary Neville also offered a damning assessment of the game. “I’m furious,” he said on Sky Sports. “The fact he’s had to go over and apologise for them.
“I’ve often said over the last few seasons if you’ve got weeds in the garden you’ve got to get rid of them but there’s some Japanese knotweed at that football club and it’s attacking the foundations of the house and needs dealing with properly.”

He added: “Those players now, their heads are well and truly on the line.
“I watched Manchester City yesterday who United are trying to get to in terms of the top of the Premier League – Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva – far better players than are in that Manchester United dressing room who work twice as hard.
“Everton ran 4kms more in the first half. Everton. Then you watch this mob out here (Liverpool), they die for every single inch on the pitch.
“Manchester United players, honestly, it’s embarrassing just watching some of those out there today.”
