West Ham confirmed the news via a statement

West Ham manager David Moyes has tested positive for Covid-19, along with two of the club’s players.

A statement posted on West Ham’s website on Tuesday evening confirmed that Moyes, along with defender Issa Diop and midfielder Josh Cullen, had all returned positive tests.

West Ham’s medical team were informed of the test results prior to the Carabao Cup game with Hull City, when the team were already at the London Stadium. Moyes and the two players left immediately, returning home to self isolate. All three are said to be asymptomatic.

Despite the developments, the game with Hull City has not been postponed, with Moyes’ assistant Alan Irvine taking charge of the team in the manager’s absence.

Earlier on Tuesday it was confirmed that Tottenham’s Carabao Cup meeting with Leyton Orient had been called off after the League Two club announced on Monday that ‘a number’ of their first team squad had also tested positive for Covid-19.

Orient confirmed in a statement of their own that they had notified the three most recent teams they had faced.
