Huddersfield were up against it.
After 45 minutes of their game at home with Premier League champions Chelsea, they headed for the changing rooms two goals down.
Their chances of salvaging anything from the game already appeared slim and to stand any chance of doing so, David Wagner would have to make a change.
He did make a change, and while it didn’t do much to turn the tide of the game, it did at least prove to be a source of amusement for plenty of the people watching BT Sport’s coverage… If only for a few seconds.
Off came Jonathan Hogg, on came Dean Whitehead. Yep, that Dean Whitehead. Once of Sunderland, Stoke and Middlesbrough; now 35 and back in the big time with Huddersfield.
Whitehead’s been on the payroll at Huddersfield for a couple of years, yet many seemed surprised by the fact he was still playing professional football, let alone doing so in the Greatest League In The Worldâ„¢.
It is 2017 and Huddersfield boss David Wagner has brought Dean Whitehead on to rescue a two goal deficit against Chelsea. Love it.

Had *no* idea Dean Whitehead was still a top-flight footballer.
