Don’t pull at a tiger’s tail…
There are certain footballers who attract mither. It’s usually because they themselves partake in the dark arts, but also because they are seen as an easy wind-up.
Take Luis Suarez for instance. He certainly carries a reputation around with him.
It’s one that Kyriakos Papadopoulos tried to take advantage of when Bayer Leverkusen played Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Throughout the game, the Greek defender sought to get a rise out of Suarez by constantly mocking him and referring to his ‘bitey’ past.
It didn’t help that Kyriakos put Leverkusen in the lead to silent the Nou Camp faithful.
Suarez refused to lose his cool despite the ceaseless baiting. Instead he lost his p**staking marker with minutes remaining to score the winning goal in a 2-1 victory.
It was a stunning finish, and the perfect way to silence his motormouth wind-up merchant.
Don’t pull at a tiger’s tail…because he may just bite back.
