Happy birthday Demba Ba
Former Chelsea, Newcastle United and West Ham striker Demba Ba celebrates his birthday today, and he turns 34 years old.
The Senegalese player is currently plying his trade for Turkish Super Lig side İstanbul Başakşehir, who threw away something of a strong lead in their division to hand the title to Galatasaray.
That’s all in the past now though and as such Ba can celebrate his 34th birthday in peace, and with the aid of absolutely tonnes of photographs of him scoring that goal against Liverpool in 2014.
You know the goal. The slip from Gerrard. The interception from Ba. The run and the slot home past Mignolet. The end of the title race. That goal.

In a recent interview, Ba was actually asked about that moment, and whether he felt sorry for ruining the title dreams of Steven Gerrard and Liverpool. His response was about as ruthless as the goal itself.
“I didn’t feel sorry for him,” the forward told The Sun. “I’m not a Steven Gerrard supporter. I’m not a Liverpool supporter.”
