Tyson Fury is not going to fight Deontay Wilder next
Despite promising negotiations since the pair of undefeated heavyweights fought to a controversial split draw last December, Fury has changed plans and will instead take an interim fight in the hope of building his profile in the United States.
Fresh from signing a landmark deal with ESPN, which will see the network become the exclusive broadcaster of Fury’s fights in the US, ‘The Gypsy King’ reportedly hopes to delay his rematch with Wilder until Autumn.
Fury will first meet an unnamed opponent in May or June on ESPN and ‘The Bronze Bomber’ was none too pleased after learning of the Brit’s changed plans.
Any tweet that begins with ‘You sorry muthafucka’ is never going to be a kind one and Wilder went on to criticise Fury for a previous promise to fight anyone, regardless of their allegiance to a particular broadcaster or promoter.

Fury hit back at his American rival by confidently claiming that he’d already beaten him, before suggesting that he was a bigger draw in the US than the New Yorker.

The World Boxing Council confirmed later on Tuesday that the rematch would not be happening next and revealed that “while Wilder confirmed his willingness to fight the rematch, Fury will take on another fight with expectations to do rematch at a later date.”
