Desperately unhappy Marcus Rashford’s strained relationship with Jose Mourinho made clear by heartbreaking image

As good as gone...

Wipe those tear-streaked cheeks with your Fred the Red handkerchiefs, Manchester United fans. Marcus Rashford is as good as gone.

Having exploded onto the scene a year ago, reports this week hinted that the 19-year-old had grown frustrated with life under Jose Mourinho and was ‘unhappy’ at United. The reports even went as far as saying that talks over a new contract had stalled as he considered whether his future lay away from Old Trafford.

Just days later, a picture from United’s AON Training Complex made perfectly clear how desperately unhappy Rashford has become.

The strained relationship between him and his manager is illustrated perfectly by the look of complete and utter despondency on the Wythenshawe striker’s face in the image below, shared by Full Time Devils.

Here’s a closer look. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Clearly, Rashford has reached a point of no return with his manager – just like Henrikh Mkhitaryan did in September and Anthony Martial did two weeks ago – and the Old Trafford exit door looms.

United’s supporters will be forced to watch one of their club’s most exciting academy graduates in years continue his career elsewhere.

Treasure the memories of that debut brace against FC Midtjylland, United fans. There clearly won’t be much else of him to enjoy in your side’s famous red shirt.
