The three apparently attended Tammy Abraham’s birthday party
The Football Association has confirmed that there will be no changes to the England squad despite the decision of Tammy Abraham, Jadon Sancho and Ben Chilwell to attend a birthday party which breached government coronavirus guidelines.
The party, which was reportedly arranged for Abraham’s 23rd birthday, was held in London on Saturday night, and footage is said to show more than six people in attendance.
It is understood that the FA are continuing to investigate the details behind the breach, which has increased on it after the decision of Gareth Southgate to send Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden home from the last England squad for breaking strict guidelines while on international duty in Iceland.
At the time, the FA condemned their “unacceptable breach of our protocol” and “serious lack of judgement”.
Abraham, who played for Chelsea during their 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon, has since apologised for his attendance: “I arrived home to find a small surprise gathering.
“Though I was totally unaware this was planned, I would like to wholeheartedly apologise for the naivety shown for the organisation and attending of this gathering.
“All I can do now is learn from it, apologise to everyone and ensure it never happens again.”
