He was the subject of some of the most shared images involving the violence in Marseille.
UEFA have already condemned the street brawls and stadium behaviour of both English and Russian fans during the opening weekend of European Championships in France, and have even threatened both countries with disqualification if the trouble continues.
One particularly shocking story was that of an shaven-headed England supporter who was involved in an altercation with Russian counterparts. It is unclear as to whether he instigated or took part in any fighting and so it’s unfair to speculate, but he was seen taking a shoeing by a gang whilst lying on the floor.

Worse was to follow as the battered and bruised man was then thrown into the Marseille harbour. Luckily for him, he remained conscious and was able to swim. It lated transpired the chucked fan is in fact Tom Scandling, a Huddersfield Town supporter from from Meltham in West Yorkshire.
Tom may have had a night to forget, but he was later spotted with priorities other than his physical well-being. The soggy supporter was filmed cutting a forlorn figure on a toilet floor, drying out his euros using a hairdryer. It could have been worse…
