English fans have had a… somewhat… complicated time of things in France this summer.
While there is no doubt that the majority of English fans are just hoping to have a good time at Euro 2016, there are a small few who have played up to a stereotype of British hooligans that many have fought hard to erase over the last two decades or so.
And while the Irish seem to be making friends at every turn, it’s nice to see English fans having a bit of harmless fun.
After England’s 2-1 defeat of Wales on Thursday, the iconic symbol of France that is the Eiffel Tower was lit up in the red and white of St George.

But the alteration was not permanent, and so the famous tower reverted back to its original golden look a few nights later.
Of course, English fans weren’t going to let this slip by so easily, as they did their best to remind the famous Parisian spike just who was boss, describing it as “just a shit Blackpool Tower”.

For anyone who has forgotten what the Blackpool Tower looks like, here it is in all its majesty.
You have to admit, they have a point.
