England are World Champions!
Thanks to a dramatic victory over Venezuela on Sunday morning in South Korea, England’s U20s created a piece of history for themselves and left many supporters excited about what the future holds for the senior side.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has made 11 appearances for Everton, scored what proved to be the decisive goal ten minutes before half-time.
Calvert-Lewin got his head on a free kick and displayed incredible tenacity to chase the ball, take a shot at goal and then follow up with finesse to give Paul Simpson’s side a deserved lead.

Venezuela had their share of chances, with their best coming from the penalty spot late on.
With 15 minutes remaining, Adalberto Penaranda stepped up to attempt to convert the penalty he’d just won only for young Newcastle goalkeeper, Freddie Woodman, to save in glorious fashion and keep Venezuela out.
Waves of pressure came on England as the minutes ticked away.

But it seemed to be in the stars for England, who topped their group before eliminating Costa Rica, Mexico and Italy in the knockout stages to reach the final.
The last time that England were able to call themselves World Champions was in 1966.
You might remember that game.
51 years later and they can do so again thanks to an incredible bunch of youngsters who show no sign of slowing down.
England's Under-20s have won the World Cup. What a brilliant week it's been for the youth of our nation. Congratulations. 👏👏👏
