Choupo-Moting tested positive for COVID-19 last month
Bayern Munich forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is still battling coronavirus symptoms which is preventing him from training or playing.
The Cameroon international tested positive for COVID-19 at the end of November, having already been in quarantine after coming in contact with another individual who had tested positive a few days prior.
While Choupo-Moting is now out of quarantine, he has not featured for Bayern since he finished his isolation period and is still struggling with symptoms from the virus.
According to BILD, the unvaccinated striker continues to feel unwell after testing positive on November 24 and has been struggling with clear symptoms afterwards for over a week.
The report adds that, despite testing negative at the weekend, a return to the pitch doesn’t look likely in the immediate future.
Manager Julian Nagelsmann spoke about the former Stoke forward’s situation on Tuesday, stating: “He still has a little problems that do not yet allow training.”
Nagelsmann: "Choupo-Moting still has a few problems, he can't train yet. Josh [Kimmich] will get tested tomorrow and will normally go out of quarantine. But it doesn't make sense to play him tomorrow. We have to look for Saturday" pic.twitter.com/RZaIhRAk1v

The 32-year-old is set to be examined again this week and a decision will be made on when his return to action can be expected.
Bayern midfielder Joshua Kimmich – who is known to be unvaccinated – also tested positive for coronavirus recently, but can leave quarantine on Wednesday if he tests negative.
However, he will not be available for the German side’s Champions League tie against Barcelona on Wednesday, with Nagelsmann insisting that the club have to protect his health.
He said: “We also have to think about Mainz for Saturday. Of course, he scratches his hooves. But we have to look at what is reasonable so as not to endanger his health.”
The reigning Bundesliga champions recently informed their unvaccinated players that they will have their salaries withdrawn for periods when they go into quarantine.
