It seems we’re not as close to a resolution as some might have hoped when it comes to the dispute between Eva Carneiro and Jose Mourinho.
The pair remain embroiled in a legal dispute dating back to their time together at Chelsea, and the former Blues doctor is some way from resolving outstanding issues with the man sacked as manager of the club last December.
A tribunal is underway, dealing with the circumstances around Carneiro’s departure from the London club, and a lawyer for the Gibraltar-born medic admitted a resolution is some way off between her and her former employers.
“The two sides are so far apart financially. And we want Mr Mourinho to make a public apology,” Mary O’Rourke QC said.
Carneiro, whose dispute began in the aftermath of Mourinho’s comments about her treatment of Eden Hazard on the opening day of the Premier League season, has also launched a separate individual legal action against the manager.
Following her Chelsea exit, she issued a scathing attack on the FA in an official statement.
It had been suggested that she could return to Chelsea in the aftermath of Mourinho’s dismissal, but the priority right now seems to be resolving the ongoing legal issues.
