Jose Mourinho couldn’t resist having a cheeky pop at Arsenal in his post-match interview

Relentless stuff

Ben Kiely

No matter what happens, no matter what goes down, no matter what the final score reads, Jose Mourinho will always be the same.

You have to admire that level of consistency. He has built up such a profile for his ‘Special One’ persona that people already know what to expect from him when he speaks to the media.

Win, loss or draw, he’s going to continue to be the same Jose who gives great soundbites at the expense of the opposition, or people he doesn’t particularly like.

It’s no secret that the Portuguese manager isn’t the biggest fan of Arsene Wenger. The pair have had their history. So when the under-fire Frenchman finally broke the hoodoo and and lead a side to a league victory over a Mourinho-managed team for the first time in 13 matches, everyone knew what was coming.

He was never going to treat the 2-0 loss as a loss and indeed, after the game he admitted that he wasn’t disappointed with the performance, just the result.

In his eyes, his team were the better side on the day, it’s just the scoreline didn’t read in their favour at the final whistle. It was a roundabout way of claiming the ever-important win that doesn’t earn your team three points – the moral one.

He may have been able to claim that accolade had it not been for the merciless dig he took at Arsenal during the post-match presser.

Take a look.

Ouch!

Never change, Mourinho. Not that there’s any doubt in our minds that you will.
