So many laughing gifs.
While Everton haven’t had the greatest of seasons this year, Wayne Rooney’s return to his home club can definitely be seen as a success, with the striker getting 10 goals in 20 Premier league appearances.
Ahead of Everton’s clash with Watford this evening, the former England captain was interviewed on BBC’s Football Focus. Kevin Kilbane asked Rooney what he hoped to achieve in the twilight of his career. Rooney said that we wanted to see Everton to move forward, and he wanted to be part of that.
He hoped Everton could become “a major force in English football” again, pointing to Leicester’s title win as an example of what is possible.

However, many thought the idea of Everton challenging the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, was, well, somewhat laughable.
