The draw for the third round of the FA Cup has been made.
The oldest club competition in the world returns on January 5, and there are some interesting ties for TV companies to get nostalgic about and talk about the “magic of the cup.”
The stand-out tie of the third round is undoubtedly Liverpool hosting Everton. The Merseyside clubs play each other at Anfield on Sunday in the Premier League, and won’t have to wait long to play again in the FA Cup. Another tie that jumps out is Brighton and Hove Albion against Crystal Palace, which is a rivalry game for some reason.
Manchester United host Derby County and Arsenal, who won the competition last season with victory over Chelsea in the final, start their defence against away to Nottingham Forest.
