Northwich Victoria’s near-victory away to Northampton Town may be overshadowed by a local fire that was visible from the stadium.
The part-timers were the lowest-ranked team remaining in the FA Cup coming into the second round, but they missed out on the possibility of being drawn against Premier League opposition as they let a 2-0 lead over Northampton slip after conceding three goals in three minutes.
While that may be memorable enough for fans of the eighth tier side, supporters also witnessed a fierce fire blaze through the local Sixfields Tavern.

The fire just outside Northampton Town is now concerning. Wind also a huge issue. Worrying. pic.twitter.com/53pPXl3auZ
