Fans claim Man City’s fixtures are ‘rigged’

Not this again

Opposition fans have been claiming that the Premier League fixture list has been ‘rigged’ after spotting Manchester City’s end of season run-in.

Pep Guardiola’s side were crowned champions for a fifth time in six years and will be looking to defend their crown again, starting with a trip to Turf Moor, where they will come up against legendary former captain Vincent Kompany’s Burnley.

As with all 20 Premier League sides, Man City will be facing the other 19 sides home and away at various points in the season in different combinations. Crazy, I know.

The fixtures are cleverly calculated, as explained by Glenn Thompson, who has been working on compiling the schedule for over 30 years, and it is just pot luck as to when teams will face each other but fans love a conspiracy theory and feel that the fixture Gods have been far too kind to the Citizens.

From April 3, Man City will face Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Luton Town, Tottenham and Nottingham Forest, before taking on Wolves, Fulham and West Ham United in May.

“Man City April and May fixtures. Lol might as well hand them the title now,” wrote one user.

“I have seen the Man City fixtures and literally it’s a fourth title in a row,” said a second.

A third tweeted: “Honestly what the f**k is this??? Happens every season, other teams have to battle multiple top six teams and difficult away games this period, yet City get it easy, a major reason they’re almost immaculate this period, whole thing is rigged as f**k.”

Another said: “Another league title handed to them just like that smfh.”
