Before we get started, let’s just say this is obviously nonsense
Do you remember the time when people thought Aaron Ramsey was killing celebrities by scoring goals? His list of ‘victims’ include Osama Bin Laden, Whitney Houston, and Paul Walker, all of whom died on the day he scored for Arsenal. Quite the coincidence.
Speaking of coincidences, a new trend seems to have emerged in which hip-hop artist Drake curses teams by appearing in photos with their star players.
Arsenal are the latest teams to have lost a game immediately after their players were pictured meeting Drake after a concert, losing this weekend to Everton at Goodison Park. Although, that result probably has more to do with the fact that Arsenal cannot seem to play well away from home and Shkodran Mustafi continues to start matches for them.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang uploaded a snap of himself alongside the musical sensation this week ahead of their games at the weekend, continuing this trend that extends beyond the world of football and into other sports.

Drake also appeared in photos with UFC fighter Conor McGregor ahead of his fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov, which McGregor lost by submission.

The trend is not new, either. It stretches back to 2012, when Drake showed support for NBA side Kentucky Wildcats. They won their eighth NBA Championship in 2012 but have not experienced the same glory since. Apparently that’s Drake’s fault.
Now, while there is obviously no causal link here, those who believe in superstition appear to have bought into the idea that Drake is cursing teams.
On that note, I have bad news for Crystal Palace fans, after Wilfried Zaha posted a picture of himself posing with Drake after his latest London show at the O2 Arena.

The theory behind this curse is almost certain to be strengthened this weekend as Palace welcome Premier League champions Manchester City to Selhurst Park. Nice one Wilf.
