International fans struggling to pronounce ‘Leicester’ is absolutely brilliant

Leicester City are big news across the globe right now.

The English Premier League is the most watched league in the world and legions of foreign fans tuned in to see little old Leicester defy the odds to win the title.

The Foxes’ historic victory sent the internet into meltdown, as you can see by this handy Twitter heatmap…

But with the former relegation battlers becoming champions of England it posed a new problem for football fans from America to Italy.

But it wasn’t just our cousins across the pond who were grappling with the nuances of English pronunciation and debating whether to go with ‘Lie-sess-ter’ or ‘Lay-kester’.

Claudio Ranieri’s fellow countryman were equally baffled by the name of England’s new biggest club.

We can only imagine how fun it’s going to get when the Foxes play in the Champions League next season. Football eh?
