Fellaini gesture helped Man United’s Schweinsteiger “feel at home”

Everyone needs help settling into a new city, even stars like Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.

As the German international acclimatises himself to life outside his home country, he has expressed his gratitude to team-mate Marouane Fellaini for a gesture that might seem small, but clearly means a lot.

Fellaini has changed his squad number to 27, allowing Schweinsteiger to take the number 31 shirt that he had worn throughout his time with Bayern Munich, and he has personally thanked ‘Felli’ for the selfless act.

“For me, I played there since I played my first game for Bayern and 31 means a lot to me,” the 31-year-old told MUTV.

“I didn’t expect the coach would give me the number but he decided, and the club decided, and it gives me a little bit more feeling like I’m at home, yes.”
