We’re not sure why, but it’s endearing when a highly-paid professional footballer takes public transport like us plebs.
They could be swanning around on 14-minute flights or £300 Uber journeys, but instead they’ve decided to do things just like anyone else.
For that reason, when they run for a train and miss it, we’re sympathetic we laugh even harder.
Michael Carrick was the latest victim after lumbering himself with an hour-long wait, and we wish we could say the response was forgiving.
