Greater Manchester Police also want to speak to a further 36 men in relation to the Man Utd protest against the Glazer’s which took place against Liverpool in May
Greater Manchester Police have arrested a further 10 men in connection to the protest which took place ahead of Manchester United’s game against Liverpool on May 2, which caused the game to be postponed.
GMP have confirmed that the number of arrests are in connection to the violent disorder and protests that happened before the game, which saw flares and objects thrown, as United fans gathered to protest against the club’s owners, the Glazer family.
Protests followed just weeks after the Red Devils were announced as one of the 12 founding members of the failed European Super League project, which collapsed days after it had been formed following widespread opposition.
In a statement made on Wednesday (17 November) morning, GMP confirmed that 10 men between the ages of 20 and 51 had been arrested in the early hours.
It said: “Earlier this morning (17 November) officers executed warrants across Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire and arrested 10 men on suspicion of violent disorder and burglary. They remain in custody for questioning.
“To date, 18 people have been arrested and 5 of those have been charged.”

Following the arrests, GMP also released images of a further 36 men they wish to speak to as part of their investigation and are asking for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Inspector Andy Fallows of GMP’s major incident team said: “The violence and disruption back in May, particularly towards the police, was completely unacceptable and unnecessary.
“Our team have been working day in day out since May to ensure all those involved are identified and face up to the consequences of their actions. Today’s arrests are a significant step forward in our commitment to do so.
“We’re also releasing images of men we’re keen to speak to and I am confident that there are people out there who will be able to provide us with credible information that will help us to identify them. If you have any information, or footage, that could assist our enquiries then please get in touch as soon as possible.”
The game was eventually rearranged to 13 May, with Liverpool running out 4-2 winners.
