Well, this is awkward
Alexis Sanchez cannot get a break.
Made into Judas for leaving Arsenal for Manchester United on a record salary. Never gets going under Jose Mourinho, all the hype all the pressure. Kids start ahead of him.
Then, new management. A new start. The FA Cup against Reading. A first team start and the opportunity to show hunger. An assist for Lukaku’s goal that put United 2-0 up.
And then an injury. The same hamstring that’s plagued him for the last six weeks. Taken off for Marcus Rashford, Sanchez made it back to the bench and plonked himself down – only to be relocated by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Sanchez was sat in the gaffer’s seat.

Sanchez assisted Rashford during a brief appearance in the 2-0 victory over Newcastle midweek. Untold disappointment for a player of his quality to suffer injury at this juncture.
Fortunately, there was no bad blood between OGS and Sanchez over the incident in what could have ended up being quite a fraught interaction.
Maybe it’s a sign of the times Sanchez even ended up in the hot seat. It’s hard to imagine this ever happening under Mourinho. But then again, he would have had to have been playing.
