Six-year-old James dressed up as “every striker’s nightmare”
We all know the trials and tribulations of picking the perfect Halloween costume, deciding between the classics and edgy pop culture references. But one young Liverpool fan broke the mould with a tribute to Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker, with great results.
The six-year-old primary school pupil from the Isle of Man is a Liverpool-mad football fan who idolises Alisson, so having watched him in action a number of times from the Anfield stands there could only be one choice for Halloween.
“He has kits with Mo Salah, Andrew Robertson and Virgil van Dijk on but he was desperate to be Alisson as he loves being a keeper, he’s definitely his favourite player,” Tristan Ringham told JOE.co.uk.
The image of James went viral after Tristan Ringham posted a photo of his son James dressed as “every striker’s nightmare,” with Alisson himself even showing his appreciation through a retweet of the young fan’s outfit.
“I’m in a WhatsApp group of people from the Isle of Man as we all go the game, one of those guys noticed it and posted it in the group,” Tristan said.
“James found out this morning and has been bouncing. He comes to most games and just watches Alisson, when he plays himself he copies all the stretches during the game. He’s a tad obsessed, being a keeper himself.”

Alisson has become something of an Anfield icon in a few short weeks at the club, keeping seven clean sheets in 12 games since signing from Roma for a then-world record £66.9 million.
“I think we’ve ticked over with average keepers since [Pepe] Reina, so to have a top keeper just gives you a lot more confidence in the side,” added Tristan on the Liverpool shot-stopper.
“He’s just a calming influence going about his business quietly.”
For anyone still pondering who to dress up as for this Halloween, let James be your inspiration.
