For every Cristiano, there’s a Kleberson
Sir Alex Ferguson unearthed some gems in his time at Old Trafford, but Andreas Pereira will probably not go down as one of the best.
The Brazilian was poached from PSV Eindhoven’s youth setup way back in 2012, with the allure of playing under Sir Alex a big pull. But his days with Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s side now look to be numbered.
He has endured a difficult season, scoring just once in 25 appearances. Now, it looks as if the 24-year-old could be on his way out for good.
According to Brazilian sports channel Esporte Interativo, Pereira will leave Old Trafford this summer.

Translated, the news reads:
“According to Esporte Interativo reporter Fred Caldeira, Andreas Pereira is leaving Manchester United and will not remain at the club next season. Negotiations have begun with clubs in Portugal, Spain and Germany.”
While it’s unclear exactly where the Brazilian will be playing his football next season, the chances of it being Old Trafford appear to be slim.
The signing of new United talisman Bruno Fernandes has pushed Pereira down the pecking order. He has only played an hour of football since the Premier League resumed post-lockdown.
Esporte claim that Pereira has grown disillusioned with his lack of game time under Solskjær. The Norwegian has reportedly tried to convince him to stay – but to no avail.

United confirmed their spot in next year’s Champions League with a 2-0 win over Leicester. But it doesn’t look like Pereira will be joining them.
In his six years as a pro at Manchester United, Pereira has made just 45 league appearances, scoring two goals and making four assists. He was a part of the United side that won the FA Cup in 2015/16.
He has had spells on loan in Spain – at Granada and Valencia respectively.
