Alexis Sanchez is no longer on the payroll at Arsenal Football Club. You might have heard.
You also might have heard how, towards the end of his stay at the club, when it was clear he was on the brink of a move to Manchester City United, some of his teammates couldn’t wait to see the back of him.
Murmurings of a divided Arsenal dressing room reached a peak when Sanchez was seen coaxing his teammates to join him in celebrating a goal in the victory over Crystal Palace in late December. Not everyone did join him.
Since it became apparent Sanchez was destined for Old Trafford, Arsenal have been doing just fine. Last weekend, before the deal was confirmed, they roared into a four-goal lead over Palace at The Emirates inside just 22 minutes. In their next outing, they overcame Chelsea in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.
It’s been enough for some to suggest that Arsenal might be better off without the Chilean after all.
With all this in mind, you can see why some Arsenal supporters might have interpreted a tweet from Mohamed Elneny as being a thinly-veiled dig at Sanchez.
The Egyptian midfielder tweeted a picture of himself celebrating with teammates during the victory over Chelsea. The text accompanying it read: ‘Now there are players fighting every minute for the logo and the fans’.

This guy is so hurt about Sanchez’s departure. How about you put as much thought into your game as you do with tweets. Awful footballer, AFC fans will turn on you once again, give it a few weeks.

Sanchez was very professional for a player that wanted to leave the club. He could of refused to play for the club but instead gave his all week in week out.
