Someone got an angry phonecall from their boss…
Whoever was manning the @SportPesa_UK Twitter account during Arsenal’s humiliating 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on Thursday night may not have been aware of the fact that the Gunners actually have a partnership with the betting company.
SportPesa are listed as one of Arsenal’s regional partners on the club’s official website but they jumped on board the Arsenal bashing bandwagon during their second 3-0 defeat in five days.
Three tweets were posted from the account which poked fun at the fact that things couldn’t have possible gone worse for the hosts when they looked to claim vengeance following Sunday’s Carabao Cup final capitulation.
They have since been deleted but not before supporters screenshot and complained, suggesting that it might not be the best idea for business partners to slag each other off.

It’s not the first time this season that SportPesa have copped flak for criticising a Premier League partner.
The above account took the piss out of Everton’s appointment of Sam Allardyce last November and that came just after the Toffees’ official shirt sponsor celebrated Arsenal’s victory over the Merseyside club at Goodison Park.
It’s been suggested that the organisation’s modus operandi is to garner as much publicity as possible by creating outrage among supporters but surely clubs will grow tired of being ridiculed by their own sponsors before long.
