The German’s future has been up in the air.
Despite their 3-1 defeat to Swansea, Arsenal fans will be in an optimistic mood after the club accidentally confirmed the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund.
It appears that the Gabon striker is already having a positive impact at the club because his arrival has helped to convince Mesut Ozil that his future lies at Arsenal. Bild have reported that the German will sign a new deal at Arsenal after being impressed by the club’s business during the transfer window.
The German playmaker is out of contract at the end of the season and has been reluctant to sign a new deal but it appears that there have been positive developments on that front.
As reported by BILD , the former Real Madrid playmaker has agreed a new contract at the Emirates after being impressed by the recent acquisitions of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang.
When speaking about Ozil’s future, Wenger has always been clear that the German is a big part of his plans: “Our intention is to keep Ozil at the club, hopefully, we will do that very soon. Not close enough to be optimistic and not far enough to be pessimistic. The vibes I get from his commitment, his focus, his desire – he behaves like someone who is ready to commit. But after that negotiation are what they are. We are not close enough to tell you yes, he will do it.”
Regarding Aubameyang ‘s signature, it appears that the Gunners have agreed a club-record fee worth around £55 million for the Borussia Dortmund striker.
