An obscene amount of money

Barcelona are reportedly willing to pay up to £45m for Brazilian 15-year-old prodigy Endrick, who currently plies his trade at Palmeiras.

Journalist Jorge Nicola has taken to Twitter to say that the Spanish giants are looking at the talent – who has already had comparisons to homeland stars such as Romario and Ronaldo – as a long-term option and are willing to spend big.

The youngster is yet to make his first-team debut at Palmeiras, but is a regular for the Under-20 side and his current club are cautious about hindering his development, as well as allowing him to recover after he recently tested positive for covid-19.

Due to his age and transfer rules in La Liga, should a move be completed, Endrick won’t officially be able to join Barcelona until he is 18, where he will then be able to be registered and considered for selection.

However, due to the clubs well-documented financial issues off the pitch, Barça would be willing to pay the astronomical transfer fee in three separate instalments of around £15m each.

The first of those would be made when Endrick turns 16-years old, whilst the second would be activated when he makes his senior debut for his current club.

The final of those instalments would come when he turns 18 and can make the move to the Nou Camp officially.

The Catalan club are rumoured to be facing competition for the signature of one of Brazil’s latest hot prospects with Manchester United and Liverpool also said to be interested in the youngster.

Barcelona recently had to offload Philippe Coutinho to Aston Villa, as well as sign Samuel Umtiti to a new deal on reduced wages in order to be able to register Ferran Torres who recently arrive from Manchester City for a fee in the region of £55m.
