Arsenal are now weighing up candidates to take over from Arsène Wenger.
It seems that Carlo Ancelotti is top of Arsenal’s list of potential successors to Arsène Wenger, who announced on Friday that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season.
Ancelotti has won 20 titles during his managerial career and coached some of the most prestigious clubs in the world: AC Milan, Juventus, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to name a few.
Another of his former clubs is of course Chelsea, with whom the Italian coach won the FA Cup and Premier League double in 2009/10.
Chelsea are also seeking a new manager to take over from Antonio Conte at the end of this season, with his departure imminent albeit not officially confirmed. Le Parisien are reporting that Chelsea will throw their hat in the ring and compete with Arsenal in an attempt bring Ancelotti back to Stamford Bridge for a second spell.
Ancelotti was relieved of his duties by Bayern Munich last October after his relationship with the players broke down due to their dislike for his relaxed training sessions that reportedly lacked intensity.
If Arsenal are looking for someone to breathe new life into the club, Ancelotti might not be their best option.
