Corinthians women score one of the most stunning goals you’ll ever see

For pure aesthetic beauty, it rivals THAT sensational Brazil goal finished off by Carlos Alberto in the 1970 World Cup final.

What. A. Goal.

Sometimes you watch a move developing in a football match that is so beautiful and spell-binding that you grow increasingly anxious about whether it will get the finish it deserves. No one remembers a wondrous passage of play that results in a bad miss. Alas it is often the case that a sumptuous team move ultimately peters out – or worse is ruled out on a technicality. But on those rare occasions when everything comes off, it is truly glorious.

Such a goal was scored by Maiara of the Corinthians Paulista women’s team and has gone viral on social media in recent days. But it turns out it was actually scored over a year ago, and is only now gaining the worldwide attention it so richly deserves. The 28-year-old attacking midfielder finished off a stunningly worked team effort against Ferroviaria SP on September 18, 2019 as part of a 4-0 drubbing. And what an outrageous goal it was.

The five-pass move started off in the Corinthians’ own half and included a flurry of first touch passing, two back heels, one breath-taking dummy, an inch-perfect cross, and a beautifully controlled volley finish on the run. It may not have been as monumental in terms of occasion or pressure, but for pure aesthetic beauty it rivals that wonderful Brazil team goal finished off by Carlos Alberto in the 1970 World Cup final.

And remember lads (you know who you are in our comments), your dick won’t fall off if you give due credit to a goal scored by a woman.
