He’s always seen himself as something of a superhero, to be fair
We’ve seen him star in the popular documentary Cristiano, which showcased the myriad ways in which his life is both spectacular and spectacularly odd, but now Cristiano Ronaldo is set to hit our screens in a different medium.
The Real Madrid forward, a man known for his shy and retiring personality, is set to launch his own animated series called Strike Force 7 after partnering with graphic novel and animation producer Graphic India.
The show, which will presumably see Ronaldo help fight the evils of ageing and bad skincare, has been created and will be executive produced by the man himself and Sharad Devarajan, CEO of digital entertainment company Liquid Comics.
While his likeness is set to feature within, it is yet to be confirmed whether Ronaldo will voice himself.
In a statement on the new venture, Ronaldo revealed that the show is a natural step for a comic book and superhero aficionado such as himself: “I have always been a fan of superheroes and I’m thrilled to help to create this new animated series. In the same way football connects cultures and people around the world, I believe great animated characters and heroes can do the same and that’s why I am excited to bring together these passions of football and superheroes through this project and share it with my fans.”
Little else is known about the show, but the one promotional shot released so far suggests that Ronaldo will be the leader of a band of heroes in the same vein as The Guardians of the Galaxy but without the rodent man.
