Cristiano Ronaldo’s desire to leave Real Madrid is “irreversible”, say reports

You know it's summer when Ronaldo is being linked with a move away from Madrid

Could his time at the Santiago Bernabeu be coming to an end? Probably not

Cristiano Ronaldo’s desire to leave Real Madrid this summer is said to be “irreversible”, according to reports in his native Portugal.

The reports from the front page of Diario Record featured the headline “Ronaldo will leave Real – Irreversible decision”, in a story which the publication seems to have taken from comments made by Ronaldo directly after the Champions League final.

The emergence of this story means that it is now 54 summers in a row in which Ronaldo has been linked with a move away but we’re sure that – unlike all the other summers – this will definitely be the summer he departs.

Ronaldo’s discontent at the Bernabeu reportedly centres around the fact that it’s the end of the season and he’s slightly bored between now and the beginning of the World Cup.

It also remains to be seen whether he will use the club he loves more than any other in the world ever, Manchester United, to once again leverage getting an even more bumper contract at the Spanish giants.

He would never do that willingly, of course. He would never intentionally use the obvious link between himself and the club he holds so dear for financial gain. Never.

When will this end? We don’t know, but we’re already looking forward to next summer’s edition.
