Arise, Darth Moyes
Football fans are comparing David Moyes’ post-match interview look to the biggest villain in the Star Wars universe.
Following his side’s 0-0 draw with Fulham, the West Ham United boss gave his post-match comments with massive black hood over his head, with his face covered in shadow.
While David Moyes mostly wanted to give his take on Tomas Soucek’s red card, football Twitter seemed most interested in his resemblance to Emperor Palpatine (aka Darth Sidious) from the Star Wars films.
The replied to West Ham’s tweet were full of people making the same joke about it.

Saturday night’s goalless London derby was most notable for the late sending off Tomas Soucek, who received red in the 97th minute following a lengthy VAR check.
“I’m embarrassed for whoever has done VAR and I’m a bit embarrassed for Mike Dean – the level of referee he is, to make that decision,” David Moyes told BBC Sport after the game.
“It probably was a bit harsh and the game is becoming very sterile,” said Fulham boss Scott Parker. “I don’t think it was a sending off but that’s the way the game is going.”
Darth Sidious is probably the biggest villain across all the Star Wars films, and actor Ian McDiarmid is one of the few people to appear as the same character in all three trilogies.
Emperor Palpatine first appeared in The Empire Strikes Back, and was thrown into the Death Star’s reactor at the end of Return of the Jedi.
Palatine made a surprise return in the final film, The Rise of Skywalker, where he revealed to be Rey’s grandfather.
