Bad sportsmanship there, Diego
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone ran straight down the tunnel without shaking Jurgen Klopp’s hand following Liverpool’s 3-2 win on Tuesday night.
The game was a dramatic one from start to finish as two goals from Mohamed Salah and a Naby Keita volley gave Liverpool the win, despite Antoine Griezmann’s brace which brought the home side level in the first-half.
Griezmann however was then shown a straight red card for a high-foot challenge on Roberto Firmino, while Atleti were also denied a penalty after the referee overturned his original decision following a lengthy look at the VAR monitor.
Simeone is known for his passionate antics on the touchline whether Atletico are winning or losing and the Argentine’s frustrations had clearly begun to boil over after the red card and penalty decision had gone against him.

Despite his efforts to get the home crowd behind their team, it wasn’t enough as Atletico fell to defeat at the Wanda Metropolitano.
As soon as the ful -time whistle went, Simeone was seen walking straight down the tunnel, clearly dismayed by the result. Klopp, on the other hand, showed his anger and disappointment as he waited to dutifully shake the opposition manager’s hand.
Speaking to BT Sport’s Des Kelly after the game, Klopp acknowledged Simeone’s anger and downplayed the incident.
“I wanted to shake his hand – we are both emotional,” he said,
“He was angry with the game, nothing else. When we see each other again we will 100% shake hands.”
