The greatest love story of the modern era over before it has even begun
International pop star Dua Lipa has denied rumours of a relationship with international football star Marco Asensio, after a Spanish publication alleged that the two had been spotted in a Kiev hotel together.
In news which will come as a crushing blow to fans of both pop music and professional football, the English singer best known for her smash hit “New Rules” has poured cold water on the gossip, insisting that the two have never even met.
The 22-year-old performed during the opening ceremony of last weekend’s Champions League final in Kiev, where Asensio’s Real Madrid side broke Liverpool hearts, beating the Merseyside team 3-1 to collect their third consecutive European Cup.
Unfortunately for Asensio and shippers the world over though, this new relationship, this 21st century Posh and Becks, this Romeo and Julet (with a good ending presumably) has not and will not happen, as Dua Lipa herself stated that it is “highly unlikely” the two will ever meet due to the fact that her manager supports Liverpool.
